This transition to more sustainable sources of electrcity generation and smarter grid management is set to accelerate under the UK Government’s net zero ambition for 2050.

We work closely with government (our shareholder is BEIS), the regulator (Ofgem) and other delivery partners to evolve the current Contracts for Difference (CFD) and Capacity Market (CM) schemes.

    You don’t have to work at a large power plant to have a career in renewable energy. At the Low Carbon Contracts Company, the commercial contracting side of projects always needs managing, but we also need financial experts, policy advisors, legal specialists and business administrators as we support growth in the number of contracts that are awarded in our two schemes.

    What is the application process?

    Once you have found the vacancy you wish to apply for, please attach your CV and covering letter via the ‘Apply now’ link. Please ensure you include your salary expectations and current notice period. Your application will be directed to the HR team managing the vacancy.

    How can I check the status of my application?

    Depending on the role you have applied for and whether your application is successful, you will be contacted to discuss the next steps and attendance at an interview. If you are not successful with your application, we will notify you accordingly.

    When will I know if I was successful or not?

    The time taken for reviewing applications will vary depending on the type of role you are applying for. Our aim is always to respond to applications as soon as possible and you will be notified as to whether your application was successful or not.

    I wanted to apply for a position I saw but it's not listed anymore – can I still apply?

    Vacancies are generally advertised for 14 days. Once the closing date has passed the vacancy will no longer be listed. Unfortunately, we cannot accept late applications.

    What pre-employment checks can I expect to be done?

    The checks conducted will vary depending on the role you have been recruited for. We will confirm your right to work, three-year career history and references, professional qualifications or education certificates as well as a Basic Disclosure criminal record check.

    Do I need a work permit?

    All employees will be asked for evidence of their right to live and work in the UK, either through provision of a UK/EU passport or work permit. We are not able to offer support or sponsorship in obtaining work permits.

    What will the next stage of the recruitment process involve?

    Depending on the role you applied for, the next stage could involve a telephone discussion to learn more about your career history and motivation for the role, or a psychometric test or a face-to-face competency-based interview with a hiring manager. You will be advised during the process which format to expect.

    Can you give me an idea of what to expect at interview stage?

    The competency-based interview will typically be held at Fleetbank House, our central London office. The hiring manager for the role will conduct the interview, accompanied by HR. They will ask questions relevant to the role and ask you to provide real examples from your experience. They may also try to gauge your suitability for the role by asking motivational and technical questions. The interviewers will be taking notes about your answers to help their decision making. There will also be an opportunity for you to ask questions about the role and the culture of the business at the interview
