The Low Carbon Contracts Company and the Electricity Settlements Company are both private limited companies owned by the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and established to play key roles in the delivery of Electricity Market Reform (EMR), the biggest change to the electricity market since privatisation.
Today, 20 September, the Department for Business, Energy & Industry Strategy (BEIS) has announced the results of Contracts for Difference Allocation Round 3.
A total of 12 new renewable electricity projects have won CfDs, which include offshore wind, advanced conversion technologies and remote island wind. The auction has delivered nearly 5.8GW of new clean energy to be added to the grid by 2025. Read more about the results on gov.uk.
